Stroke Awareness Month

May is Stroke Awareness Month—a time to learn the signs, share the message, and help save lives.

A stroke happens when blood flow to the brain is blocked or reduced. Every second counts. Knowing what to look for can make the difference between recovery and lasting damage.

Remember FAST:

  • F – Face drooping: Is one side of the face numb or uneven when smiling?
  • A – Arm weakness: Is one arm weak or drifting downward?
  • S – Speech difficulty: Is speech slurred or hard to understand?
  • T – Time to call 911: If you notice any of these signs, act immediately.

Stroke is a leading cause of disability—but quick action can greatly improve outcomes.

This month, help spread awareness:
✔ Share the signs of stroke
✔ Encourage loved ones to learn FAST
✔ Prioritize healthy habits like regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and blood pressure management

Awareness saves lives. Your knowledge could help someone recognize a stroke in time.
